Yes! I'm going to flat out say that I am glad that the "Crucible" is finally over. The story was interesting, but some of the characters were straight annoying. I just could not stand Danforth, and even though Parris had a change of opinion towards the end, he was irritating during the whole trial. When Danforth said, "There will be no postponement," I was like

Whenever Parris interupted, saying "He means to overthrow the court."
I just wished Proctor would do this to him even though he was a reverend.

It just angered me how he saw things black and white.
In addition, it was just amazing to see those twisted girls manipulate the whole town.

Overall, the book in my opinion was just okay. I guess I just did not like the subject of the story.

What are your thoughts? Were there any characters that you could not stand.

  2. Hi Latiqua!

I'm also glad that "The Crucible" is over. It was a good book, but the characters WERE pretty annoying. I could not believe how foolish everyone was: what made them believe Abigail? Haven't they ever heard of acting?!?

Although they were annoying, I still thought Abigail was an awesome character! It amazes me how she was able to get the whole town to believe her and turn against one another.

I loved how you used images to finish your sentences. They really expressed your feelings!

  4. Great animations. Very clever, too. They really got your point across. Although I always laugh when I watch that scene from 300.

Anyway, I agree with you. The hysteria and absurdity of everything annoyed me when we got to...oh, I don't know. About Act II. I know that now it just seems completely ridiculous because if someone tried to accuse someone of being possessed by the Devil in a trial today, they'd actually be the one who'd be sent to a mental institution. But still. I can't really get my head around the idea that people actually believed that stuff back then. And Abigail...I don't even know where to begin with her.

But, hey. We gotta read it.

  5. As always, I love the animations you used. I do agree that the characters were very frustrating, but thats what also makes it a brilliant play. An author that can evoke those kinds of emotions is a very impressive one.

Anyways, I share your pain and frustrations in this book. I wish I could just reach in the book and slap all of them! For people to be that closed minded and stubborn makes me very aggrivated!

I look forward to reading your next blog post!
